Geometry
Angles
Alien Angles - Adjust the angle to the correct degrees and help rescue the aliens.
Angle Activities - Use a giant protractor to measure the angles of different shapes.
The oBtUse Angle - Figure out the missing angle and try and find your way out of the maze. At each turn there are three choices; choose wisely and move closer to the exit, otherwise you will get more lost.
Stargazing - Enter the degrees to point the telescope and try to find all the planets. (PBS Kids)
Coordinate Geometry
Billy Bug and His Quest for Grub - Find where the grub is by clicking on the coordinates. The game is a nice introduction to coordinate geometry working in the first quadrant.
Billy Bug and His New Quest for Grub - Same great game using all four quadrants.
Co-ordinate Game - Type in the coordinates for the location of the red circle. There are 8 games you can choose. (Birmingham Grid for Learning)
Locate the Aliens -Help locate the aliens on a four quadrant grid by typing in their coordinates.
Parking Activity - On a four quadrant grid avoid the obstacles to park a car at the correct coordinates.
Stock the Shelves - Help the convenience store clerk stock the shelves using a four quadrant grid.
Shapes
3D: Earth Exploration - Find the shapes at the amusement park such as cylinders, spheres, and pyramids. (StarrMatica)
Building Blocks - Match the blocks on the bottom to the shape above. (Primary Games)
Calamity's Quest - An adventure with shapes and polygons.
Grid with Shapes - On a grid add shapes and then you can rotate and color your creation. (More than Math)
Max's Fantastical Zoo - Read and/or listen to the story about Max's Fantastical Zoo adventure and then draw and write about one of the animals he describes. (Scholastic Max's Math Adventures)
Put it on the Shelf - Basic introductory game for shape matching. Drag the shape to the matching shape on the shelf. (The Kidz Page)
Shape Tool - NCTM activity. Here is the description from the page.
Shapes - Explore shapes by moving around triangles, rectangles, squares, and circles to make your own creation.
Shapes - Description, examples and worksheet about 2D and 3D shapes.
Symmetry
Line of Symmetry - Choose which shape has the correct line of symmetry. There is a quick explanation of symmetry at the beginning of the activity.
Symmetry Activity - Students can either complete a picture with symmetry or create their own.
Online Presentations and PowerPoints
Geometry 2 Online Presentation - Questions are on identifying shapes, polygons, faces, vertices, edges, symmetry, intersecting lines, perpendicular lines, congruency, and radius. There are 20 questions. (Mr. Anker Tests)
Word Problems
Why are most manhole covers round? - Word problem from Figure This! from NCTM.
Higher Level Thinking Games
Graph Game - On a graph the goal is to connect the two highlighted dots. One player is trying to connect the dots the other is removing lines to stop the other player.
Planarity - The game gives you a shape with lines that are crossed. The goal is to move the vertices so that no lines are crossing. Quite challenging and fun!
